A tale of a swollen toe

Infections in the body rarely stay local. Here is an example of that. Ivo had a toe infection that would not quit. Round after round of antibiotics plus all sorts of natural remedies would not make this infection go away.
Ivo’s other complaints were feeling like in a fog, very low energy, and having elevated fever almost everyday. FUO (Fever of Unknown Origin) usually means a bacterial infection.
Luckily, a toothache developed on the same side where that swollen toe was. An x-ray revealed a low grade, chronic infection in the lower jaw. After infected material was removed from the jaw, his toe returned to normal within two weeks. Fever is gone and his energy is up.
